At the home page a user can "Set the Site Filter". Great. To clarify, I am talking about the Tag filter. The problem is that when I search, I am presented with all items that contain my search string, but, my "Site Filter" setting does not appear to be respected. I get WAY too many replies.
And once not on the home page I can't set the Tag filter to a different choice. Is there some other setting to activate my filter settings. Is there any help for this feature. I can't find even that.
I realy like this website, but without the site filter, or at least with incorrect usage, the site is frustrating to use.

The filter you refer to affects only the Home Page: specifically it filters the Articles in the list immediately below it.
You can do a filtered search by looking under the "Articles" menu, then "Search". On that page, you can select "Tags" from the "Match" drop down.

Thanks for your reply. However, that functionality is not well thought out. When I am in articles and I search for say "downloader", I get over 3742 results, but most of them not for "android", regardless of my "Site Filter".
If I then select "Tags" as Match I get zero. That tells me that the filter does not recognize "Android", but in fact is looking for the tag "downloader".
If I then change the search to "android" I get 181 replies, but mostly other than "downloader. So there is the run-around.
If I then change the search string to "downloader tag: android", I get 3767, now all for android and related to downloader. Perfect.
So what's the point of the "site filter" or the "Match" function when I have to use a boolean to really get what I am looking for.
Sorry, but this gets me back to my first line, "functionality not well thought out". I suggest am rethink on the purpose of those 2 functions and in particular what the inputs actually may consist of. Or get rid of the 2 functions and let the boolean do the work (it works really well, and the data is there. And it is good).

In the "Write an Article" Tags dropdown, the right most column under Topics.
I'm pretty sure it isn't spelled "Androiid"

Ah - that's a user-created tag. I'll merge it with the correct one.

There have been a number of questions from mostly new members about being flagged as spammers. It may be useful to create an explanation page which users can look at to get clarification about these issues and which could be linked to when answering their questions.

Ir would be useful to put a link to this page in the warning message.

Yes that may help but it wouldn't provide as much information as a paragraph of explanation.

Why? I am talking about linking to the explanation page here.

Sorry, I'm not aware of an explanation page (that explains moderation etc)and you haven't provided a link. If there is such a page why wasn't it referenced in response to this question The Lounge[^] ?

You seem to misunderstand me. There isn't a page like this currently. I was suggesting that, once it was created, the spam warning message should link to that page.

Yes I completely got it wrong. We're in alignment now and I fully agree with you.

Can you show me an example? Or describe a scenario? I want to make sure we're talking about members getting marked as spammers incorrectly, not questions being reported too quickly and too aggressively and getting closed.
Thanks,

I think it's about users being picked up by the spam filter which can be a touch aggressive at times. It was possibly prompted by this thread[^].

Seems like we could just change the moderation message to be a little more specific then.

As mentioned three threads down, although that's been marked as fixed:
Side menu missing in some forums.[^]
I still suspect Marco's Funny site behavior[^] message. Expanding that message restores the sidebar; expanding any other message does not. Page 2+ on this forum also doesn't have the problem.

I noticed today, this page https://www.codeproject.com/Members/[ANY Username]/ is giving the below errors.
Controller, Action or Item Not Found
Do not try and find the page. That’s impossible. Instead only try to realise the truth:
There is no page.

It's there, then it's gone.
Sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesn't.
I can see it flashing into and out of existence when scrolling.
It's annoying.

Which forum, which browser and how big's your screen?
[Edit: OK, I'm seeing it too. This is new, and we haven't touched that code in ages. I'll dig it]
[Edit 2: Works perfectly in Dev. ]
