Broken HomePage in Firefox

FYI, the CP HomePage is broken
- the usual links to the Lounge on the right are gone
- there are no articles
- other items are missing
[EDIT]
And now everything is back to normal , but is was a scary moment...
It looks now like it was a false alarm
Can we have a way to delete messages from the homepage?

At the moment, there is a Taiwanese sex worker in first place on the homepage:
The message has been spam killed, but it remains top of the homepage list and refresh doesn't get rid of it, nor does posting messages to the Lounge to try and push it off the bottom.

I'm sure it will go in time, but it is inappropriate and may trigger net nazis.
Just a "force refresh" of the list would probably do it - though it would be nice to kill them before the spam hit count hits the magic number (it's been there for an hour or so already).
Database & SysAdmin
General Discussions
Which of course, we all know expand into various sub fora when clicked on. I've noticed that when I'm viewing "General Programming" in particular, there's so many sub fora that in order to go to, say "General Discussions", I have to scroll down to the bottom of the page of the discussions I'm currently looking at (I have per-page set to 50), and then the left-hand menu will scroll so I can get to the "General Discussions" section. Would it be possible to have the section collapse if it's clicked on a second time, or double-clicked?
My "workaround" is to click on "Feature Forums", which only has the single sub-forum, and then go to the section I want, which isn't a big deal. It just feels like one aught to be able to click on an expanded menu and have it collapse..
CP is down A LOT!

You guys probably already know this, but it's ridiculous how often CP is down.
I don't visit as much as I used to, but when I do it feels like a 50/50 chance it's down.
For example, yesterday evening at around 20:00 to 22:00 UTC.

A lot in the morning too.
Haven't shared quite some Wordle's because the site was down.

At first I thought it was just coincidence, or maybe a temporary problem, but it's been going on for months.
I'm not tracking downtime or anything, but if I had to guess I'd say CP is down for at least a few hours each week.
Add C to the list of languages for pre tags

I know we have C++ and that works for C, but there's one issue that's always bothered me about it.

When you're writing C code, and it says C++, it can lead to a WTF moment of "why didn't you do it with a function overload instead of taking a void*?" for example.

C is a much more permissive language, and a lot of things you do routinely in it are completely WRONG in C++.

So having a little disambiguation in the header of the pre block would be helpful, even if it was just an alias for the C++ highlighting.
Object Detection YOLOv5 3.1 won't start

Hello, I am trying to run Blue Iris with CP AI Object detection on Windows Server 2022 Datacenter. I am using a Quadro 4000. I have Cuda 10.1 installed and CUDNN files copied into the folders. YOLO5 6.2 installed and is running fine though. I'm only trying to run YOLO5 because I'm reading that it's the only one that works for CUDA 10.1, and that CUDA 10.1 is the only CUDA that works for a Quadro 4000? I'm really not sure about any of this as I'm new to it all. What should I be using, what am I doing wrong?
New messages since update trigger?

Not sure whether this is a bug or just odd behavior or what.
I just updated and restarted chrome, and the "New Messages Since" time has been set to "now", or at least perhaps to the time when I restarted chrome. I've seen this before when I've exited chrome and restarted more or less right away. Is that expected? Does whatever triggers the New Messages since flag time get stored as a cookie, and since I clear cookies when I close chrome I'm messing things up for myself? Something else going on? Just curious. Maybe I just need to mark CP as ok to keep cookies?
Found best bug ever!!! Image caching issue

I uploaded an image named : sqlstone-2_001.png
It was too big so I delete it from the article.
I resized the image (GIMP), added a little red box (highlight area of screen) and saved it.
I then uploaded it to the article again with the same name.
I then clicked the "insert" button to insert it into the article again.

Now here's when it gets juicy.
The thumbnail on the right, has the red highlight box, but the image in the article does not.

I thought, ok, maybe I need to "flatten" the image.
I did so, uploaded again. Still red box only shown in thumbnail.

I thought, ok, maybe I need to remove the alpha channel in the image.
I did so, uploaded again. Still red box only shown in thumbnail.
At this point I'm going slightly insane.

I then think, hmmm...maybe I need to rename the image so I named it sqlstone-2_001A.png and uploaded it.

It worked. You can see (in the image I captured[^]) that the images on the right (thumbnails) show the red box but only one of the images on the left display the red box.

Crazy, ain't it ?!

I guess this is caching issue. But it drive a user crazy.

I'm not sure how it can even cache that image like that, because keep in mind the first re-sized image (which is displaying in the article without the red box) actually had the red box also.
Only the original (much larger image) didn't have the red box.

I hope you can track this one down, cuz it crazy.

UPDATE - ANOTHER CLUE
In the article I'm editing I right-clicked the image with no red box and chose "open in new browser window" and saw this: https://www.codeproject.com/KB/Articles/5384295/Working/sqlstone-2_001.png[^]

See the dimensions of that one? That's the original that has no red box.

I then right-clicked and displayed the one named sqlstone-2_001A.png and I saw this: https://www.codeproject.com/KB/Articles/5384295/Working/sqlstone-2_001A.png[^]

Summarized Issue
The issue is that every time I deleted and uploaded the new altered image, and then clicked "insert" to insert into the article I would see the original cached version of the image.

From Hungary, codeproject.com can only be accessed via VPN and the modules cannot be downloaded either!

No Game Development Forum?

I didn't realize this until just now. I assumed there was a forum dedicated to developing video games, but I've never looked for it. I would post to the "Graphics" forum, but video games are more than just graphics. What's the story on this?

Using CodeProject with Firefox

Oddly, CodeProject works still fine on my oldest Firefox on this machine, i.e. version 44. But on later versions like e.g. 115, it fails.
No submenus popup when I hover over an item like "community".
The login button on the main page fails (um "button"... actually just a text linked to "javascript:;"), but at an other URL (pasted into the browser's address bar), I eventually found a working login.
And the css seems totally missing - even when I disable my proxy.pac script (and it is obviously not the cause because on this old machine, it works fine).
Now I am a little confused.
Private Email Replies

We used to have the option to allow private emailed replies to comments posted. In fact, that feature is checked in my settings. But I never see that option displayed in any comment. Did that get turned off for some reason, or is there something else I need to enable.
Is this a little outmoded?

These days everyone's got 5G through the miracle of covid boosters, and broadband at home.

So why does codeproject warn me about posting a couple of pages of code in "What Have I Tried?" when I ask a question?

Nobody is on dialup anymore. These "bandwidth goggles" seem like a throwback from the bad old days.
